Pre-Met Ltd are extremely proud to announce that they have been awarded a Supply Chains in the Twenty First Century (SC21) Bronze Award and thereby join an elite number of precision engineering companies to achieve an SC21 award.

SC21 is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industries by raising the performance of its supply chains. The UK is number one in Europe and second only to the U.S. globally, in the aerospace and defence industries. To achieve an SC21 award a company must demonstrate their world class business performance in all aspects including on time delivery and services to customers, in internal business efficiency and furthermore a continuous sustainable improvement culture throughout the organisation. Pre-Met Ltd have achieved a SC21 bronze award having demonstrated greater than 95% on time delivery and 98% customer quality acceptance and dedication to a sustainable improvement programme, across a 12 month qualifying performance period.

Pre-Met ltd supply metal stampings and metal pressings as well as sub-assemblies and other engineering Solutions.Their SC21 Bronze Award was supported by their entire Aerospace customer base who confirmed the excellent on time delivery, quality and efficiency matrices.

Matthew Thornton Pre-Met's Quality Manager, led this ongoing improvement programme, together with the support of all the employees. Speaking of this achievement, Mr Thornton said:

New automotive contract

Pre-Met awarded major new automotive contract

Advanced engineering company Pre-Met has been awarded a major new contract from one of it's automotive customers. The contract, for one of the leading premium OEM marques, is a significant milestone for Pre-Met taking them past an annual turnover of £3 Million in the automotive sector.

Sales & Marketing Manager at Pre-Met, Mark Smith said "The automotive market is a significant one for Pre-Met and accounts for a significant proportion of our turnover." Smith commented further "we are well established in the automotive sector and have provided metal pressings and metal stampings for switch components in many of the leading brands on the road today. This new contract sees us move in to metal component manufacture for engine system protection utilising a high specification nickel/steel alloy noted for it's high magnetic permeability (MU-metal)."

The contract calls for a complicated metal stamping progression tool to be designed, tested and put in to mass production. The component has a projected life span in excess of 6 years and may well be expanded to new brands as it gains a hold in the market place.

Pre-Met Managing Director, Steve Haynes, added "this contract is indicative of Pre-met's philosophy of being an extremely flexible and supportive supplier. The milestones on the project are tight but, given out ability to react to a customer's needs, well within our capability.Further it shows our ability to assist our customers with a cradle to grave approach in their metal component manufacture encompassing concept, design, prototyping, mass production and finally aftermarket care."

Successful Open Day for Pre-Met

Pre-Met Ltd hosted another successful open day at their premises on Studley Road, Redditch on Wednesday 6th February. In attendance were a number of large blue chip companies, whose total turnover is counted in the tens of billions of Dollars, involved in the Aerospace and Automotive markets as well and some smaller medium sized companies involved in Industrial and Cosntruction markets.

"The day was a great success" said Pre-Met's Sales & Marketing Manager, Mark Smith. "We received half a dozen significant enquiries as well as opened discussions on some major projects that are coming down the pipeline and require a supplier" commented Smith.

Pre-Met are one of Europe's leading suppliers of metal stamped and metal pressed parts to many market sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial, Electronics, Medical and Construction sectors.

Steve Haynes, Managing Director at Pre-Met, reflected "these open days have been a great success for us. This is the third such event that we have run in the last 8 months. On each occassion we have received enquiries and won business. For us, they offer an alternative marketing solution to exhibiting at UK based trade shows with greater returns on investment. Pre-Met is Open for Business

Following the success of their series of Open Days in 2012 Pre-Met Ltd has announced a new series of events for 2013.

Throughout 2012 Pre-Met Ltd, who specialise in metal pressing and stampings to advanced engineering markets, held a number of "Open Days" to showcase their capabilities and facility.

"The events were a great success" commented Pre-Met's Sales & Marketing Manager Mark Smith. "The events were well attended and each one resulted in a number of enquiries and several hundred thousand pounds of business. We were also impressed at potential and existing clients willingness to travel from all over the U.K." added Mr Smith

The heart of the Open Days was a short presentation about Pre-Met followed by a conducted tour of the Pre-Met facility and finally access to all the senior managers at the company.

Steve Haynes, M.D., at Pre-met metal stampings and pressings, added "The events were a great showcase for our company. They allowed us to demonstrate our capabilities to our customer base and potential clients. It certainly has added significant busiess over the last 12 months".
